Letterpress Invitations Videos

I was looking for some good videos that really gave some insight into how letterpress invitations are printed. Perhaps show all the work that is involved in the setup as well. As you may or may not know the art of letterpress printing really comes down to the actual printing of the stationery. The way the ink lays on the plate and the n the transfer of the ink to the paper. If there is too much ink, then it will be slurred and not enough it will be dry and show an indentation around the letters. It has to be just right to get the perfect letterpress invitations. Here is a letterpress invitations video I found: letterpress invitations

Stationery Set Articles

Here are some great articles if your are looking for a stationery set,

Life is full of memorable events – birthdays, weddings, graduations, and a million others – and those events are better with the right people in attendance. While I can’t dispute the convenience of being able to call or e-mail somebody an invitation, those options sometimes seem a little too easy. For special occasions, the right sort of correspondence is necessary to ensure that potential guests feel welcomed in advance. To really make each guest understand that his or her presence really is desired, I have found that a customized stationery set is a great investment.

Letterpress Invitations Article

Here is another article from that same site that mentions letterpress invitations but I like the style of writing and it is interesting.

Planning my wedding was one of the hardest things I ever had to do. Prior to getting engaged I had no idea the time, effort, and money that went into a ceremony and reception. To keep my future wife as happy as possible, everything from the dress, the location, the cake, and the catering had to be exactly right. When she put me in charge of taking care of the invitations, I knew I couldn’t blow it. I drove around to every stationery and paper store in town hoping to find the right invitations, but all I found were poorly-made, mass-produced wedding stationery which would definitely not be acceptable for a memorable occasion like my wedding. Personalized Stationery Sets Article

Just read some nice articles about stationery set and personalized stationery. Enjoy!

Here’s how to improve any situation using personalized stationery sets. I have found that there are hundreds of occasions which require getting in touch with friends and loved ones. I might wish to invite them to a special event such as a wedding, a graduation, or a birthday. I have communicated with them regarding their special events, offering my salutations and best wishes during their memorable moments. In any of these situations, it would obviously be easy for me to pick up the phone and make a phone call to whoever it is I want to talk to. But a phone call lacks the personality and lasting charm offered by customized stationery cards. Read the entire article on personalized stationery sets by clicking on the link.

Letterpress Stationery

Fine letterpress stationery sets you apart from someone who might just be writing a thank you note on a piece of notepad paper. This is especially true if you are sending out an invitation to a wedding party or a baby shower. Fine stationery for weddings and baby showers are out there just waiting for you to buy them and give them to the happy new couple.

Funerals are another reason to use fine stationery. People who have just lost someone close to them are all too often unresponsive to simple words of comfort. However, writing your comforting words down on fine stationery will allow them to read what you have to say when the time is right for them to be comforted and to have their mood lightened.

Fine stationery is not just your invitations, though it is the most popular. If you feel like going all out, you can include many other pieces to your fine stationery collection. The invitations are the way the couple to be choose to bring their family and friends together.

Programs for the service are also an important part of the stationery. They allow for the guests to know exactly what is coming next in the ceremony or in the order of events for the entire day. The program can also give information for the reception afterward.

RSVP cards are important to give guests a way to let the couple know whether they will be attending the ceremony and/or reception. The RSVP cards will give the wedding planners a good idea of how many guests to expect.

Table cards are usually set aside for the tables of honor, in particular the bride and grooms immediate family. The table cards, as well as matching the rest of the stationery, must be clearly labeled and easy to notice.

Menu cards are ideal if the wedding has a personal chef and cooking staff. The menu cards must be easy to understand. If possible make sure the menu items are well described to entice the guests. The more enticing the menu items the more likely guests are to salivate over them and order them.

Thank you card are the second most important part of your stationery. The new couple should not forget to show appreciation for the guests who have come to their wedding to show their love and support. It is imperative that they send thank you cards to those who attended.

There is some flexibility these days in the use of color as a border and in envelope liners. Occasionally pastels are used. The classic style is ageless and will not look dated twenty years from now.

Modern fine stationery respects the tradition of the wedding event but adds elements of playfulness, whimsy, and color to the mix. Brides who view their wedding as a celebration of love that they want to share with their closest friends often choose modern invitations. A formal wedding, as well as more informal weddings, can be announced with modern invitations.

Making Your Personalized Letterpress Invitation All It Can Be

Letterpress Invitations really add a unique look and feel to your wedding project.

The entire design element comes into play as well and one really needs to be an expert to employ typography and spacing elements that really make an invitation or stationery piece stand out above others.

Avoid these 6 Costly Wedding Invitation Mistakes

Each year I see couples repeat these same costly wedding invitation mistakes. Making these mistakes can cost you hundreds of dollars and serious frustration.

1. Listen to your local stationer when they tell you to order more invitations sets than you think you will need. This is mine number one mistake that I see over and over again and by far the most expensive. If you think you’ll need 100 invitations, definitely order 125 instead. Cost difference between those quantities is perhaps $200. If you only order hundred and need to reorder an entire new set of 25 it could cost you almost as much as the entire first order. Unique Wedding Traditions

No matter what part of the world you are in, weddings are a monumental and joyous occasion as they celebrate the union of two people, their hearts, souls, even families into one. While all the occasions are full of wonder and amazement, there are several differences in the customs and traditions we see all over the world.

Asian Traditions

In China, the traditional wedding gown is bright red in color as this symbolizes luck for the new couple. The bridal gowns are often embellished with things such as chrysanthemums and peonies as these symbolize wealth and good fortune. The groom typically wears a long black coat with a dragon on it. Fireworks are displayed that make loud noises, to ward away evil spirits and energies. Read more here…

The Thank You Note – The Correct Way to Say Thanks

So someone did something nice for you, now what?!

We’re taught from a very young age to appreciate the kindness and generosity of others. The best way to show that appreciation is to say ‘ thank you.’ Of course you can say it verbally, but a hand-written thank you note really shows that you care enough to sit down and write about it. Many people have never been taught to write notes, let alone how, but there’s never a better time to learn! Even if your writing style could use a little help, any note is better than the alternative.  Read more here…

Personalized Stationery, Men Need it Too!

Writing letters has traditionally been an equal endeavor amongst the sexes. In modern times, women have taken over the role of writing letters and keeping up with correspondence. It can be argued that handwriting a letter is indeed a dying pastime, and that only older generations are keeping up with the art. In the last few years however, a new generation of letter writers has taken hold and is standing up against the cold, modern way of keeping in touch: email. While email has its obvious advantages (it’s fast, easy, and free!), writing a note by hand adds a bit of yourself into the message. It’s proof that you care enough to sit down and compose your thoughts to another individual. Most people relish a note received in the mailbox, especially nowadays when our lives are inundated with junk mail and bills. It’s up to you to keep this tradition alive and support our postal system, one of the best and most reliable in the world.  Read more here…
